Are you a Canadian employer who has made significant strides in workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)?

Have you successfully implemented inclusive hiring, retention, or recognition strategies that foster an environment of growth and advancement for Muslim and racialized women? If so, we want to hear from you!

Please submit a one-pager abstract on any of the key topics listed below.

The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) also welcome abstracts outside of the list, on unique endeavours that strive for employment equity for Canadian Muslim and racialized women.

Selected abstracts will be invited to present at the upcoming "I Belong, You Belong" National Employment Conference, scheduled to take place in Toronto on November 6 & 7, 2025.

The conference aims to bring together Canadian employers and Muslim women, HR professionals, DEI advocates, researchers, employment leaders and advocates to share best practices, success stories, and innovative strategies to create equitable workplaces.

Presentation Topics of Interest:

We welcome proposals that explore, but are not limited to, the following themes:

DEI Success Stories: Real-world examples of impactful diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

Inclusive Hiring & Recruitment: Strategies for equitable hiring processes and overcoming bias.

Retention & Development: Programs that support the career development and advancement of Muslim and racialized women.

Intersectionality in the Workplace: Using an intersectional approach to foster inclusion in the workplace.

From Policy to Practice: Implementing effective organizational change to promote workplace equity.

Presentation Formats:

Keynote Speeches – Inspiring talks from industry leaders.

Panel Discussions – Engaging conversations featuring multiple perspectives.

Interactive Workshops – Hands-on sessions with actionable takeaways.

Submission Guidelines:

Proposal Title: A concise and descriptive title for your presentation.

Abstract: A 150-200 word summary outlining your topic, key insights, and relevance to the audience.

Target Audience: Indicate who will benefit from your session (e.g., HR professionals, employers, DEI practitioners, policymakers).

Presenter Information: Include your name, title, organization, & a brief bio (50-100 words).

By sharing your unique workplace strategies and best practices, you will lead by example and inspire more employers to create equitable workplaces where Muslim women truly belong.

Deadline for Submission:

All proposals must be submitted by June 30th.
